Challenge
Bathroom easily accounts for the highest water consumption in most household. Taking a relaxing shower and bath are innocent indulgence of modern life, a luxury that is difficult to convince otherwise. User behaviours can be easier to change with todays technology advancement and hardware and software.
Solution
This set of faucet, shower-head and mobile app are designed for the future bathroom users open to the use of technology to change their interaction with everyday product.
The idea is to have bathroom product that provide real-time usage data to the consumption-conscious users. When data presentation is user-friendly, it can convince people to improve their consumption footprint within their bathroom spaces.
The faucet utilises an internal turbine and thermometer to collect users’ water and energy usage. The usage data is transmitted online for analytics and returned to the user in the form of user friendly data visualisation and usage suggestion to assist the users in minimise wastage.
It will non-intrusively change the usersʼ bathroom water consumption through data awareness and friendly motivation. After a period of time, the app will begin to suggest ways of improvements.
