Who am I in 2020?

May 2020

A self introduction written for my LinkedIn profile

I am obsessed with transformation through design, product and services that directly alleviate pain points that are previously thought to be inevitable. From the electric vehicle manufacturers that are contending automobile giants, to challenger banks disrupting traditional business and user relationship.

I am driven by the use of different disciplines of design adaptively in crafting new solutions that challenge status quo, and most importantly, making everyones’ lives better.

Having lived in Malaysia, Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok and currently in Milan, I have acquired a strong curiosity towards identifying less obvious differences in people and businesses. I like to find out what works and what doesn’t; how something that works in one place might not work at the other; discovering insights empathetically and leveraging them strategically throughout the design process.

I am currently at Continuum, a global innovation design consultancy, where we provide integrated consulting services to clients. Prior to that, I have interned at an industrial design consultancy in Kuala Lumpur and a design studio in Milan, where I completed my bachelor studies in design.

In my free time, I work on personal and freelance projects where I can further develop more technical skills while being align with my other interests. The projects completed include scooter charging dock, an App for a tea house and several lamps for a lighting design and manufacturer based in Guangdong.

I am also a reading enthusiast. I realised the importance of being a good communicator, both at work and in life. So I have taken up the challenge to practice this skill set by blogging about my favourite apps and start-ups and journey in design.
